I have been eating at Cattlemens for years now and I have to say that they have some of the best steak around. The ribeye is absolutely excellent. I have never tried the breakfast before but trust me when I say that I know it will be good. Thanks for all the opinions.

I went to Cattlemens this morning for breakfast after seeing the review. I had a waitress named Jamie who had worked there for a while but for some reason she seemed hesitant to help our table. Our water cups had nothing in it and she'd be chattering along every other table but ours...I dont know if she's racist or what because I'm not white... but then she looked at my 24 month old and my 3 1/2 year old and said they would be charced $3 for the buffet each and I told her I went to the website where it said they weren't charged...she just looked at me for a few seconds then slowly went to talk to some girl about something that I could tell had nothing to do with the buffet price then came back and said "uh yea, the kids are free" she knew all along but for some reason wanted to be rude. My husband and I were very well dressed and so were my kids so I dont know why she was being a snob. She took forever to get to our table. The food was good..not great but good. The buffet price was excellent. My husband ordered a TBone with egges which was around $25 for his. My buffet was %5.95 and the kids ended up free.

Great place to order anything, in thirty plus years I've never had a bad meal and if something is amiss they are happy to do what ever it takes to make you happy. I think I would have to agree with Tim on the breakfast steak it would be hard to beat. Think I'll go there tomorrow and try the breakfast buffet provided I can resist ordering the breakfast steak, also be sure and try the steak burger sometime it is super good!!!

Some of my co-workers and I have been going to Cattleman's for breakfast for awhile now... As night shifters, we head over there for breakfast and their Double Deuce beer after shift to wind down. Yes. Breakfast Beer. Their breakfast is wonderful, and it is nice to wind down with a beer after a long shift!

Some of my family went to Cattlemen's for dinner a couple of weeks ago. I had fond memories of the calf fries, so I ordered them after asking the waitress if they were as good as they used to be. She said yes. The other family members had the fillet.

The calf fries were more batter than anything and I wouldn't order them again. Oh, but the fillets - the best I've tasted (and I've had many experiences with great and not so great steak). I REALLY regretted my choice of the calf fries, especially after tasting those fillets. The person who said the steaks were low quality either didn't have the fillet or was there on an off night. Again - the fillet was mouthwatering, tender, very, very flavorful and cooked to perfection. One of the best, if not THE best, steak I've tasted. Though I didn't have an entire steak, I had enough good bitesto know of what I speak. GO there and have the fillet!

My father and I had breakfast there today and it was excellent. Like Tim, I also had the breakfast steak and while the piece of meat wasn't very large, it had a wonderful flavor and was very tender. The steak also came with two eggs, hashbrowns, and not one but two biscuits (with gravy!). All for only $7.50! That's a deal, folks. And the service was also great. I can't speak for dinner, but I highly recommend Cattlemen's for breakfast.

Thanks for the input on the steaks, Alex. I know some other people who share your opinion there. I've only had the breakfast steak, which really isn't a good example, so I can't be a good judge on their real steaks.

Steak aside, though, Cattlemen's is an interesting and uniquely local place to eat. It has great historical importance to the city and much of what they offer is very good. I still think it's worth a trip every now and then, and my favorite time to go is still for breakfast.

Cattlemen's is an example of big hat no cattle of steakhouses. While it is marketed as the best steak in OKC, the actual prouct is marginal at best. I would challange anyone to try Boulevard Steakhouse, in Edmond, and compare it to Cattlemen's. Frankly, Outback, Chili's or even Cimmaron has a much better Steak and is far cheaper. Cattlemen's is the quintessential tourist trap steak house. Before believing the marketing about Cattlemen's try another steakhouse. You would have to go to a buffet, suich as Golden Corral or perhaps Denny's to find a steak of lesser quality.
