She freaking LOVES this place - we take her to eat here at least once a week. I'm not sure if grandma likes it for the food or due to the fact that she loves hugging people. The waitresses at 50's Cafe must be hip to the "Free Hugs Campaign" because they are always very happy to oblige. Heck, I sometimes take her here when I need a hug break. Anyway, about the food: It's cafe food. Nothing special, sometimes even a little suspect. However, given the fact that most of my family consume this food on a frequent basis and have yet to succumb to any gastrointestinal illness speaks volumes. The prices are right on (in addition to hugs, my grandmother is...well...very frugal), and I kinda like dodging bullets while walking to and from my car. When I see these reviews posted, I try to look away, but much like a car wreck on the highway, I just have to stare. When I start to read the review, I jump to the end just to check that you didn't get ill or die. Not that I'm hoping that it will happen. I actually want you to survive the experience because, I know I'll want to stare at the next car wreck... I mean read the next Shady Restaurant of the Month review.
