I am with Sarah on this one - my folks love tea rooms. We always had to go to Alicia's Tea Roomw when they came to visit from Michigan. They DID have some good daily dishes. I am just not a big fan or sandwiches and fruity teas. We are having a work lunch here tomorrow for a retirement party (all ladies) so I will review later!

My husband and I loved A Spot for Tea...although my husband, like Andrew, would probably deny that he had been there. It was a bit too "pink and frilly" for him. However, the service was great and the food and tea were equally delicious. Their tea selection was magnificent and I'm excited to say that I just found out that they will be rolling out their fall line of teas including pumpkin spice...YUM! This would be a great place for a nice lunch, get-together with the girls or to host a tea party. Baby showers here would be so cute!

I took my mom and my wife for a special mother's day treat. I tried to view everything through the "tea room" lens, yet I still found it to be average.

The atmosphere is not nearly as "quaint" as I would expect in a tearoom. Rather, it is huge, nay cavernous, inside with rows of tables lined up like a cafeteria.

I had chicken salad and thought it was average. A little too bland. Nothing to be excited about.

I will say the iced tea was very good and they do offer a huge selection of hot teas which is cool. The muffins (served with every meal) are also really good, though I can't believe I just typed the word "muffins."

I can see the draw for large groups of ladies or dress-up parties for little girls, but as a place for lunch, even for those fond of all things dainty, I think you could probably find better.

Haley, just be careful and don't burn your girls out on tea rooms and girly food. My mom did with me and now I'm writing a book titled "I Hope There Are No Tearooms in Heaven". Let 'em have a Bunny's onion burger every once in a while! :)

"Haley" did a great job on this review. My girls would probably enjoy a place like that. I can't wait to come to the city and try out some the shady restaurants that you reccommend. Good job Andrew, I mean "Haley".

I love your website. I'm proud to see you branching out and trying new kinds of food. Uh, I mean, I'm glad you let Haley write a review for you. There's a new Cajun restaurant here in Whites Creek. You should branch out and do reviews in other states... (bring the kids)

OkPete, I have nothing to prove. Although, your comment does give me a sudden craving for bad hot wings and cheap beer. Weird.

Andrew, you doth protest too much! I just don't believe it.

Assuming your wife's identity to review a 'girly' restaurant that you favor is all too transparent.

But maybe this is your indirect ploy to get us, the readership, to hear the cries for help from your suppressed feminine side.

Andrew, we recognize your femininity! Rejoice!

I consider Andrew a master of wit combined with a Honest Abe's approach to real food versus mass production "chain" restaurants. Now he adds the girly approach (via his wife) to those who rather live in a safety net with a spot of yummy tea. To the readers this offers a wider range of choices depending upon mood of the day. I love it! I hope these two throw caution to the wind and continue to rescue the public from the "chains" of boredom. Congratulations!
