Sorry but I have to say I think their food is very bland. I have been several times and each time have not been impressed. Actually one of the best things I’ve had there is the layer dip.

We’ve only been one time for lunch…we were really excited to try it out. Food was pretty bland and not much of it for the price. I consider it sort of an eclectic Mexican type of place. I don’t think we would go again. Service slow also.

We had dinner at Iguana recently. Food was fairly good — not great, but good. Nice salsa.

The service was quite poor. While the servers were fairly friendly, it took a long time to flag anyone down! Drink orders got lost, etc.

I’m wavering between 3 and 4 stars for this place. Leaning toward 3. I’ll visit again before voting.

PS: What is the DEAL with service in OKC restaurants? I can count the number of places I know that have brisk, professional, intelligent service on (maybe) two hands. The average level of waitstaff competence is noticeably worse than in other mid-size cities I’ve lived in.

I gave Iguana another chance this past Sunday afternoon. No one came to our table for at least ten minutes, and there were only 4 other small groups of people there. The $7 velveeta tasting queso literally only filled 1/4 of the bowl. If their service was actually decent, I wouldn’t dread every time that one of my friends wants to go there. It’s a good thing they have double size cups, because they don’t come around enough to refill a regular size. Its also a good idea to bring good company so you can laugh about it.

Iguana is very good just about everything I’ve tried has been good,and they are able to seat and serve alot of people in ashort amount of time,another great place I haven’t heard mentioned is Adobe Grill, sort of gourmet Mexican I would call it, if you haven’t tried it you should!!

Perhaps I wrote too soon. After writing the above review last night, I could not get Iguana Grill of my mind. So, I chose to go there for dinner last night, give them one last shot at getting my dinner slot.
All in all, it was awesome. The service was spectacular, the chips and queso were just as good awesome as always, and the food was great. Food was still not quite as good as during the day-time, but still great.
So, I ask that my negative comments about my hopefully one-off negative dinner experience be disregarded. Possibly, those comments could be a cautionary tale of attempting to go to a smaller restaurant with a group of around six to eight on a Friday night; though, based on last night’s experience, it seemed they handled the larger crowds with ease.

After experiencing Iguana Grill four times now, I have to say, it is one of my favorite places to eat a late lunch in OKC. Why? Great food, wonderful guacamole, and some of the best chips and queso in OKC. Now, why do I say “for a late lunch”? Well, each time I have been for dinner or a ‘lunch-time’ lunch, the service has been less than stellar. In fact, in both instances the service was slow, but still courteous; were not promptly attended to; and had to ask for refills.
The saving grace of course, is the food is great. Not sure if a different chef is involved, or what, but the food definitely seems better in the day-time hours, as opposed to at night. This of course added to my one-time-only dinner excursion.
All in all, I will continue to go to Iguana Grill, in fact, I likely will try them again for dinner soon. Everyone deserves a second chance, well, unless you get me sick…

Me and 12 friends went here two weeks ago for birthdays. It was on a Friday night, so I understand it is a busy time- but the wait staff was TERRIBLE! We were a little disappointed that they seated us at two different tables, which I sort of understand, but most places will move two tables together. Our waiter didn’t even tell us his name, he just went straight to asking what we wanted. The salsa was amazing, and I didn’t hear too many complaints about the food (though my nachos were burned, I like them that way) but most of us agreed that we were disappointed all together after hearing all the hype. I would give them another chance, though my friend went again last night and said she will probably never go back.

We have been to Iguana many times and have always had great service. Every item we have tried has been great! The drinks are terrific! We have been there for lunch and supper and everything is always way above average! Keep up the good work!

I love the sweet nacho’s, they have sweet beans in them and it’s a really unique flavor. And the coral salsa is great, sweet and then a kick. Their chips are light, crispy and salty. Yumm!

The Iguana is one of my new favorite restaurants. The food and the atmosphere can’t be beat…and I always take my out-of-town friends there for lunch. This past week, I met some colleagues there during lunch and we all ordered the fish tacos with white beans and cilantro. It was delicious! I also love the Coral Snake salsa, it has just enough kick to it.

I have dined at IMG several times, lunch, dinner and in between. I have yet to have a unpleasant experience. I love the salsa they serve. The flavor is fresh! I have tryed a number of dishes and haven’t been disapointed.

I just dined here [tonight] and have the folloing to say:

I thought the service was horrendous. The worst part was that it was not friendly. This added insult to it being slow.

The food? Cold and average.

My recommendation: Don’t go. Save your money and dine at Ted’s.

Iguana Grill is overrated. The ambiance is fantastic, they pour a mean drink and the menu is great – if only the food lived up to the descriptions. Eric nails it above “the food seemed as if it had been sitting around for awhile”. The food arrived sort of limp and exhausted as if all the vitality was squeezed out. And the second and third time I had the same experience only this time poor service. It’s the Paris Hilton of Mexican restaurants – flashy and beautiful on the outside – but no substance.
