Love it Love it Love it. I can hear all the so called "experts" telling us everything wrong with this kind of eatin. This is what you call an occasion place. A place to go when you want to kick back unnotch the belt a little relax and enjoy. Would I eat this way everday? Perhaps not. But when I plan to dine at this fine establishment I want the full monty and no holding back. The Lord wants and expects you to treat yourself once in awhile to break the monotony of hard days at work. SO ENJOY!!!

Just dined here last night and must say I was very happy. However, I just want to update some info here:

The 2 meat, 3 side combo price went up $1 to $10.95. I think the chicken and waffles was like $12, but I can't remember for sure, my mind was so zoned out on the food.

Oh and they accept MC, VISA and Discover...unlike most other shady places that only accept cash.

My only real complaint about the place is how much trash they produce. All food is served in styrofoam containers and plastic utensils. There's not a dish or piece of china or silverware to be found. Sure it's easier to clean up, but unfortunate how much waste every meal produces even for people dining in.

Ok, off my soap box. I definitely think the chicken and waffles were money since it's served freshly cooked. The other meats, if not served fresh from the deep fryer quickly becomes dry and soggy. Either way, it's artery clogging goodness!

I have just had one of the best lunches that I've had at Mama E's. Me and a few ladies at my job all tried it for the first time and it was soooooooooo soooooooooo good. We all have never had anything this good since our grandmother's cooking. Thank you all at Mama E's for bringing some true SOULFUL SOUL FOOD COOKING to our city. We are all looking forward to trying the Chicken & Waffles next time. Thanks Again and God Bless Mama E's.

I had lunch at MamaE's today I had Catfish and Neckbones for the meats and for the sides I had okra and tomato, collard greens, mashed potatos, cornbread and kool-aid to drink. Everything was served piping hot and all was delicious. The catfish was seasoned and cooked perfectly! I will go back for sure, next time I want to try fried chicken and also want to try pork chops they looked really good. Good service very friendly staff also nice and clean keep up the good work!!!

If we did'nt live here,I'd move just to eat at MAMA E"S!! What a experience and that was before I took my first bite~never have we been welcomed like this, I felt like we were the most special customers they had ever had~but no, everyone was treated the same way!!!
Now, on to the food-blessed by the food gods, that's for sure! The chicken wings and waffle~the most amazing thing I have ever had,no joke!! I all but licked the syrofoam box-must display a certain amount of decorum!! There was nothing left but bones on those wings though!!
Husband had the buffet! GOOD GRIEF!Catfish,Chicken and Dressing,Greens,Mac and Cheese,Okra and Tomatoes,Corn Bread, and Chocolate Cake! He was in a food coma with a huge smile on his face. Now, I suppose you might find food as good, not better elsewhere, but NO WAY will you find somewhere that you will want to come back to just to feel good because you came! These people are the real deal!!!Mama E's puts HEART AND SOUL into every dish!!!

I just saw MamaE's on the food network....let me tell you, my mouth literally watered as I watched Pastor prepare the chicken and waffles. UMMMMMM!!!!!!! I live in Texas, but I immediately went to the internet and found out where MamaE's was located. I am going to talk my husband into taking a drive there. Call me crazy but it ain't nothing like some soul food. As soon as my husband has time off work, we are going to make that 3 hour drive down there to get some of those famous Chicken and Waffles...OMG! I can't wait, see you soon:)

My mother and grandmother drove in from near Fort Smith to visit me here in OKC, and they were very excited to try Mama's cookin'. Those ladies in there were so sweet, but the real deal was, after my mother started eating, she suddenly got misty-eyed and before we left, said, "I need to go talk to this lady over here". She told her that this cooking tasted like her mother-in-law's cooking, who had been dead for 20 years, which gave me a total "Aha!" moment remembering my other grandmother and Sunday dinners at her house. It was uncanny, really. Well anyway, there were hugs all around (incl. the cook!), the perfect cap to an awesome and evocative lunch.

This is old, traditional Southern food that both black AND white people (that was us!) can celebrate today. Mama E's participates in tradition and roots like very few restaurants I have ever patronized. This is where it's at, and one of the few places truly worth all the hype.

Heard about Mama E's by word of mouf..and was not disappointed!! loved it so much that I went back the next day and treated my mom Flava to a meal. Coming from Norman it may seem like a stretch, but as long as the camry runs, hmph i'll be there and Flava will too. Thanx Mama!!

Had Mama E's for lunch today. Went with the Mega-Meal Special (used to be the Soul Food Special), for $10.95 + tax. Enjoyed Fried Catfish, Fried Chicken, Shells & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Collard Greens & Cornbread. The cornbread was amazing. The potatoes and gravy were amazing. The catfish was amazing.
