I went there yesterday and a friend and I shared a couple cupcakes, can't remember the names because they are way to long and have very little to do with the actual flavors. Anyway, they were so dry that I needed finish my coffee in a hurry to swallow them down. It's a good thing they sell coffee or I might have choked. I wouldn't go back.

We went today...the chai latte was good. I had the red velvet cupcake and it was so dry I couldn't eat it all. My daughter had the Boom Boom Pow cupcake and while in theory this cupcake is probably rockin' it was dry as well. The service was curt at best...

The people who own Cuppies are not affiliated with a "mega church", they just go to church. With Oklahoma City being in the bible belt, chances are that if evangelical Christians own something and it's good, it will be evangelized about.

Absolutely my favorite cupcake place, ever! My newest addiction is their Boom Boom Pow with caramel and sea salt. I was skeptical at first, but I have to have at least one a week, but I would eat one everyday if I could. I will jump on any chance to run errands for work over near there so I can justify a cupcake for my troubles!

The first time I went tried a Cuppies and Joe cupcake, I was dreamily smitten with the atmosphere, the flavors, the moistness, and the coffee. It may have been love at first sight. *horehound* Oh, the moist carrot cake with the not-too-sweet icing was wonderful! Can you believe I was surprisingly able to persuade my children into giving me "tiny nibbles" of thier cupcakes. ("Honey, do you want a ride home to Edmond? Good, give mommy a little taste, please?") The mocha flavor rocked. Red Velvet was my 2nd fave cupcake of the night. The chocolate was tasty yet not quite as dark chocolate as I prefer.

My 2nd visit to Cuppies and Joes was equally pleasing...except I did notice the staff seemed less interested in helping me find my delicacy.

UNFORTUNATELY, *sniff sniff* My 3rd and 4th visits were mournful. It pangs me even now to remember these sad days. My expectations were high from my previous floating-on-a-cloud C&J dates. Regretfully, Cuppies and Joe lost my devotion by proudly serving me 4out of 5 dry and stale cupcakes with the gourmet price. What happened to my love? Both of these trips were Saturday visits. Should I assume the cupcakes were baked on Friday so the bakers could rest on the weekend? How can my love remain true if Cuppies and Joe is inconsistent with their cupcakes? Still with gourmet cupcake prices, C&J turned into a playboy cupcake tease. All my friends still cheered of their goodness yet I could not return to my darling. The last two times we were together, the cupcakes looked mouth-watering but they didn't give me the same satisfaction. Like a forlorn broken heart, I left the adorable cupcake shop with my head hanging low.

They say the best way to get over a lover is to find another lover quickly; upon my friends recommendation, I tried Sara Sara Cupcake. My joy returned doublefold. Not only were the SS cupcakes 1/2 times larger than C&J's cupcakes, the SS cupcakes were consistently moist every time I visited...even on Saturdays. I am thrilled the owners have taken booth space in the Edmond Farmer's Market, my hometown. See? I think they may be smitten with me as much as I am smitten with them. Even at a Farmers Market, their cupcakes are moist and flavorful- of which I don't mind paying their gourmet cupcake pricetag.

Sometimes a love will leave you but another greater love will come. Thanks Sara Sara! You are the BEST cupcakery in OKC!

One more update. We went there recently and had one of the special cupcakes, the Boom Boom Pow. It is a 10 out of 10. Jump on it if they have it when you visit!

Vanilla cupcake w/ a ring of chocolate buttercream frosting on top (mmm), and in the middle, lovely smooth caramel accented with grains of fleur de sel (French sea salt)!

GOOD HEAVENS this was delicious. A lot of the secret of great dessert baking is to make sure to add enough salt. Flat blah chocolate chip cookies? Maybe you didn't add enough salt. The combination of the tingly salt with the deep rich sweetness of the frosting and caramel somehow makes the sweet stuff even more luscious. AMAZING cupcake. The Boom Boom Pow belongs on the regular menu ASAP.

Im addicted! I seriously think this place laces their vanilla icing with crack. I buy Vanilla Sky by the half dozen and every time I eat just one, it takes every ounce of willpower I have to not get in my car and drive back down to cuppies for another half dozen. If vanilla sky was the only flavor they had, Cuppies would still be the best cupcake place on the face of the planet. I love the atmosphere and the crazy amount of flavor choices (Even though I always get Vanilla Sky). I just think this place is the perfect setup to experience great people, great food, and great service. This place is the hidden jewel of OKC. (I tried the Punch Drunk Love cupcake last night and it is a close contender with vanilla sky. Its almond icing with vanilla bean cake. Boom Boom Pow is amazing too and I dont even like chocolate).

This place is just another trendy place to hang out.

I wonder though when this fad of paying for cupcakes came from? When has anyone ever payed for a cupcake? From my experience they are always handed out for free. Guess I just don't understand.

I continue to be really impressed with the cupcakes at Cuppies and Joe, especially the ones with the vanilla buttercream frosting. Man oh man.

The chocolate frosting is good and chocolatey, but doesn't have the same satiny lightness.

Great addition to the neighborhood!

I think this place has to be affiliated with a Church or something.

On the rare occassion that I'm driving by 23rd on a Friday or Saturday night, they always appear to be packed with youth-group types, and I always catch myself thinking "this has to be a church thing". Throw in this extremely conspicuous message box stuffing, and it seems pretty clear to me.

So which mega-church is it? It's not like it would ever impact my decision to patronize the place, but I'm curious nonetheless.

This is one of the great new hangouts in OKC. I usually go there on the weekends and when I'm in the Paseo area as well. I have tried many of the cupcakes but the carrot cake is my fav. Also, they make a great caramel latte and the frozen hot chocolate is awesome as well.

The cupcakes are just average, and inside is extremely small. What I disliked most about this place was the parking area. All in all, it's a cute average cupcake place, but nothing spectacular.

So I went here Thursday night before my wisdom teeth surgery the next morning. My fiancee and I took 4 home. The neverland, the chocolate rain, vanilla sky, and mint to be together. I was so exctied to try this place especially after my not-so-great experience at Sara Sara but I wasn't all that impressed here either. Now, the place its self was, like everyone said, adorable. Great atmosphere and decor. I LOVED the neverland...would go back to get it alone, but the "mint to be together" (and I LOVE chocolate and mint) was almsot gross. The consistency of the frosting and the taste were way to close to colgate for me to enjoy. The other 2 (chocolate rain and vanilla sky) were fine, but nothing to scream about. I feel like they deserve another chance though, unlike Sara Sara. I am going to try and go when I can get the sassafrass. Anyways...good passion fruit iced tea.

Cuppies & Joe has a great atmosphere but the cupcakes are small. I can make more impressive cupcakes at home. Also their hours or operation are sporadic. Call before you go because you never know when they may be closed.
